I love looking through gift guides for inspiration. Being someone that lives to travel, it was so much fun to put together a gift guide for travelers. The other thing I love is doing all my holiday shopping online and getting my shopping done before December starts. First up, a gift guide for the traveler in your life. You can click on any of the photos to purchase the item. In case you are wondering, I get a small commission if you buy anything and there is no additional cost to you.
Gift Guide for Travelers
Travel Jackets, Hats & Scarfs
Jackets – Everyone needs a lightweight jacket. My North Face jacket comes with me on every single trip. The thing I like, is that it rolls up into the size of a travel umbrella so it’s easy to carry and it’s warm but not too warm. The competing jacket is the Patagonia Nano Puff Jacket, which is another excellent choice. Both come in multiple colors, will keep you warm on a plane, be an extra layer, and protect you from rainy weather. If you are just looking for a small packable raincoat, this North Face packable rain jacket that comes in black or red is perfect.
Hats – Depending on the type of trip, hats and scarves are great gifts. The secret is to make sure you find something somewhat neutral that can go with multiple outfits. This pom beanie for cold weather or this straw hat for a beach vacation are both very affordable and useful. A nice beanie is great for men and easily packable.
Scarves – Your traveling fashionista will love to bundle up with this Free People scarf that comes in a bunch of colors. For warmer weather, a cute lightweight snake print scarf can double up as a sarong or something to cover up when heading into a church. For men, a nice ribbed scarf is great for business or pleasure travel. If you have an adventure traveler in your life, a Buff can be worn 16 different ways!
Suitcase, Backpack and Packing Cubes
One of the keys to a successful trip is packing well. We’ve used this 3 Piece Hard Shell Spinner Set on our last few big trips and it’s sturdy and reasonably priced. Uber stylish travelers, will love this personalized luggage set.
Compression packing cubes, one of my travel “must haves” make a great gift or stocking stuffer If you’ve never hear of them, you are completely missing out! They are lightweight bags that zip up and get rid of all the extra air between clothes. A pile of t-shirts becomes half the size when compressed. At your destination destination, you can keep your clothes inside and just unzip the compression and it’s like having drawers.
Another very useful item is a functional travel backpack with laptop space. Multiple pockets on the inside and outside make a bag so useful and great getting through airports. A small stylish backpack is great for people that want something functional but looks great with every outfit. If you have a friend that is getting into photography, a camera gear backpack will be the best gift. The great thing is that the inside can be reconfigured for various lenses and cameras.
I bought my husband a pair of Bose Headphones that he brought them on every trip until he wore them out. It’s a great gift for a frequent traveler because they are noise cancelling which makes the trip so much more peaceful and they have great sound. For those that prefer headphones that are smaller, these Bose earbuds with superior sound will do the trick.
A new Canon Camera or Drone makes an incredible gift for someone really special in your life. While that may be out of your budget, you can help them personalize their equipment with a Camera Strap that reflects their personality. A new Camera Backpack for their gear is also an amazing gift that won’t break the bank.
For photos on your trip, the new iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro are amazing. The photo and video capabilities have been greatly expanded. If you have and older iPhone, we put together a list of iPhone Photo Accessories that make great gifts and stocking stuffers. Go Pros make great gifts for active travelers as do accessories like this Telesin dome.
