I am always on a quest to do whatever I can to help my skin look it’s best. While treatments like Botox are great, there are so many things we can do that are noninvasive to make a difference. I’m all about 2 things when it comes to beauty – get the most bang for my buck and opt for less invasive options whenever possible. Shea Kaplan from Shea Aesthetics gave me some products from her skin care line to try on my skin and I have been loving them.
Age shows up on our faces, necks, hands, and honestly all over. So many women are focused on keeping their faces beautiful and forget their necks. Have you ever seen a celeb that looks so young but her neck gives away her real age. Yikes! With that in mind, I have been trying this new regimen from Shea. It is 4 products to target my face, neck and décolleté.
Shea Aesthetics HA-4 Collagen Plus
First on the list is Shea Aesthetics HA-4 Collagen Plus. Right on the bottle, this says that it provides intense hydration and it sure seems like it does. It contains 4 different types of Hyaluronic Acid that work synergistically to pull water into your skin and hydrate it all day. Think of pouring water on a sponge and how it soaks it up. It is clinically proven to increase hydration levels over 100% within 1 hour. Unlike lotion, it has a velvety feel that makes my skin feel really soft. The difference that I see is just an overall smoother appearance. I apply this to my face, neck and chest.
Shea Aesthetics RA Cream
This is prescription strength retinol. I am a huge believer in using a retinol (widely known as Retin-A) for 2 reasons, it protects against skin cancer and it makes my skin look completely refreshed. Check this post for more information on using Retin-A. I use it for 3 months and then take a break. Skin will be more sensitive to the sun during this time so it’s imperative that you use sunscreen. Shea Aesthetics RA Cream is compounded with emollient ingredients to combat dryness and redness that women can experience using a Retinol.
Shea Aesthetics Skin Lightener 4% HQ
I have also talked about hydroquinone with Retin-A before. This will even your skin tone and lighten highly pigmented spots otherwise known as age spots! The horror!!! I’m sure there’s some politically correct term like wisdom marks but I don’t want any of it – just the wisdom and not the marks! The HQ cream is applied on alternating nights with the RA cream and is kind of a one two punch for splotchy skin tone. Both the RA Cream and the HQ cream can be applied to the neck and chest too. Ladies – we have to pay attention to necks as early as possible. No one needs to grow old gracefully here.
Shea Aesthetics Re-Firm Neck Cream
Here’s the truth – As you can tell, I am putting multiple things on my neck so I can’t pinpoint what is making my neck look better – but it really does. I can’t ignore the fact that I did botox in the platismal bands so that could be part of it but I am assuming it is either the Collagen Plus or Re-Firm Neck cream. The reason I think I can narrow it down to these two is because that’s all I used on my neck for a full month. I didn’t start the other 2 until I had already noticed a difference. The difference is not jaw dropping. It just looks better.
Every time I try something that I think you might like, I will share it with you. It takes a village to keep us ladies looking great! Hehe! I have really enjoyed my 2 experiences with Shea Kaplan, first for All About Botox and now for her Shea Aesthetics skin care line. If you live in Los Angeles, has a delicate touch, she is fully informed and will do whatever she can to help you achieve the results you want.
